I'm the lead guitarist in a rock band. We've released CD's and youtubes. Why do you ask?

I am the leader of a band, but it is more of a concept than reality.

I'm a current, contributing member of the Digital Buddhas; a club of Disco Biscuits fans that abstain from drugs and alcohol.
True story.

How do the Digital Buddhas compare to the Wharf Rats and the Phellowship? Trying to gain access to one (or maybe all three).

Idk, but I assume they're all the same. I only travel for Bisco, bro. We have a table in the back of most concert venues for the shows. We usually have balloons tied so we stick out. The people at the table usually give out free snacks or candy and are open to any discussion from people who genuinely want to get sober. I usually don't chat long as I can't relate to most of these people as I've never needed to get sober-- I just chose to as a point of pride back then and now because my job hair tests. My last 8+ shows with nothing but water; sans one Ogden show I had a five hour energy. The group consists of some seriously nice, non-judging ex-junkies and a few randoms thrown in. My high friends are always there for the candy.

Marn once considered a sober camping area for Camp Bisco. I would honestly consider that. Between the number of junkies there and the Hells Angel security, having a chill camping spot would be nice.

I've been going to more shows sober for a variety of reasons and it is funny how alcohol produces the most annoying people. At least a coked or mahled out person can stand up straight without falling into you.

i don't necessarily "work" in the industry, but:

- I have ghostwritten for at least 5 different top 40 Billboard hits

- I have MC'd Jazz Fest several times and introduced artists such as Keb Mo, Stephen Marley, and Rod Stewart

- I have a bi-monthly column in a renowned music publication

- I was backstage at the last ever Beastie Boys concert

- I was named a personal influence on LCD Soundsystem

- I have shared the stage with Geddy Lee and Ozzy Osbourne

- I have ridden in a helicopter with Trey Anastasio

- My dog's brother is owned by Andre 3000

- I have never been to Red Rocks

Even when I was smoking herb with every meal and doing hard stuff on the weekends, I was never getting drunk. shite makes me tired and I don't enjoy the sluggish nature. I rarely get drunk anyway, but definitely don't at shows. And yes, being sober will really show you how retarded everyone is on alcohol.
