However, I'm one of the few Tool fans who believe that their music is getting better as time progresses

I agree with this. Tool is one of my favorites and I think very highly of them. I have said for years now 10,000 days is there best album and that says a lot given there discography.

I like how Tool and Deftones are brought up. From that 90's era. Would it be wrong to say that of all the popular acts of metal-numetal that these two have stood the test of time the best?

Love Chevelle... but there live act isn't strong at all IMO.

They aren't anything special live but if you enjoy their music then you'll enjoy their performance. At least I did.

Have a live DVD and seen a ton on youtube... Missed them both chances last year. I enjoy their albums a shiton though.

I agree with this. Tool is by far my favorite band, period, and I enjoy a very wide range of music variety.

However, while Tool is getting better with time, I don't have the same opinion of the Deftones. And that's sad because Adrenaline is one of my all time favorite albums. It fricking rocks.

Perhaps I just don't appreciate their more mature sound. I don't know. However, I appreciate Tool's more progressive sound...so something is off.

This song seems pretty heavy from their new album.

It may be. But play the album Adrenaline after you listen to any other Deftone album and come back and tell me that Adrenaline isn't the best. And be honest too.

They haven't yet produced anything better than Adrenaline.

I'd have to disagree. I took to Chevelle because of Deftones and Tool. I saw them a few times at HOB and the Texas Club(one of the best shows I've ever been to). They crush a small venue, but I will agree their performance sucks when they are opening for another band. You have to attribute that to the lack of lighting and sound.

Neither Deftones or Chevelle come remotely close to a Tool show. In fact...no one really comes close to equaling a Tool show.

Plus, let's be honest. Chevelle is a wannabe Tool band. They're good and they've accepted their lot in life...which is that their nowhere near as good as their clear inspiration - Tool.

agree with this...although I preferred Lateralus to 10000 days. Haven't really liked the deftones Adrenaline. Of course I've also gone from 15-16 to 32 over that span

I'd say that Rage has stood the test of time significantly better than the Deftones.

Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave are two completely different bands. Audioslave broke up a few years ago.

I agree that ZDLR's politics are bullshite. He's a douce. Hellava rapper though.

Brosef...I know that Audioslave and Rage are a bit different. Hence the laughy face after the comment.

You do know the two bands are very similar, right? One might even say related.

So I did a bit of emailing and texting today to my Alabama friends that know the people in the shakes... They have three open dates between Dallas and Nola. And then they are playing Hal and mals, which isn't big at all..

So maybe Baton Rouge will actually happen. Idk
