Really good album, she has a great old-school country voice.

while this album is fricking amazing, i wouldn't really consider it a debut

I can't really stand them now, but The Head and the Heart's debut was really good.

Agreed and I feel the same way about Tigerlily. Certainly a masterpiece but I don't consider it a debut.

Agree with the Blizzard of Ozz and Holy Diver post. This one's probably not popular and can be argued but...

We´ve all had wonderful help getting exposed to things in our lives, and since I´m an old fart, this is a great medium, no?

That was quite simple, I pulled up a page of the 100 greatest debut albums, and threw on what I liked that hadn´t already been mentioned.

I was quite pleased to see the Bad Company reference, as that was a great first effort.

Suede was not on the list, I added that (and couldn´t find a similar sized cover to those of the list).

I would like to add that De La Soul´s first was something I bought when it came out, and NOBODY I know listened to it, nor gave it credit. I´m glad to see time has proved me right (I would have put it anyway, like with Suede, had it not been on that list).

As Kafka said, Elvis Costello´s first was a masterpiece, but the ´clunkiness´ of the drumming and production were less than optimum. Clover weren´t what those great songs needed.

Great list. Add The Cars, The Doors, Pearl Jam, King Crimson, Zeppelin, Allman Bros, eft ect

I don't think any debut album has ever punched the music world in the face like that Rage first record.
