Can we get a little love for this man? His three album stretch of "White Ladder", "A New Day at Midnight", and "Life in Slow Motion" was fricking killer.

Not to mention he has been putting out consistently good music since 1993.

Yes I am old.

The way he mixed electronic beats with traditional sing songwriter/countryish jams was awesome.

Please Forgive Me was one of the best examples of that. Caroline off of a new day is another example.

I had forgotten all about him until seeing this thread. Haven't listened to him since college and am about to start back. I salute you for that, sir.

Big Gray fan, and also fellow Brit Badly Drawn Boy Damon Gough, both had great late 1990s- early 2000s run. David Gray hosts a nice Singer Songwriter Cafe show on XM radio..dude's an astute audiophile.

Of Americans, also enjoy Joseph Arthur and Josh Rouse. Canadian Ron Sexsmith is a machine too. All five have great Career output.

Shine is great. That and Flame Turns Blue are two of my favorites of his earlier stuff.

On his newer stuff nemesis and breathe are the jams.

Wow, thanks for the reminder.

I forgot how much I liked Babylon.

Digging into the rest of his stuff just now.

I really liked White Ladder but I never followed through on any of the ones after that. I definitely need to do that. Thanks for the rec.

Hospital Food is the jam no doubt. And Alibi is really an incredible arrangement. I really think that album was his high point.

He was a guest on Letterman many years ago when I was lucky to be in the audience. It was a great experience and I hadn't thought about it in years until seeing your post.

Wife and I both love him. We went to a show in Dallas a year or so ago and he was really good. Amos Lee opened for him and his set was awesome too. I never listened to Amos before that show and it turned me into a big fan. Violin and El Camino are two of my favorites.

They were both fantastic live.
