SIAP- did a search and didn't see anything about the new album that came out a few days ago.
Has anyone given it a listen? Thoughts?
Just my opinion, but it's absolutely terrible. Maybe I was spoiled by "Keep It Hid"- but the new one isn't good at all. Seems to go the way of recent Black Keys, which I'm also not a fan of.

I think its great.
Its 70s pop music, makes me smile.
Duane eddy and john prine definitely had a heavy influence on it.
Sounds nothing like any black keys album at all.
Ive listened numerous times at this point and it is by far my favorite record hes put out, well maybe tied with blakroc.

That's fair. I guess I'm not a fan of 70s pop music then
I stopped listening to the Black Keys after Attack & Release. I'm surprised anyone could enjoy the Blakroc album and also Waiting on a Song. But to each their own

Shine On Me sounds like an older song, but I can't for the life of me put my finger on it, which I'm usually good at.

Dan Auerbach/Black Keys were good through the Magic Potion album. After that, they released a bunch of girly pop tunes.

I don't like it!I've listened to it 3 times on Spotify and have tried to like it! I know musicians evolve but I've never seen anyone make such a departure from their early albums as this guy. I remember seeing him play at the North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic in like 06'and this stuff is no way close to what I witnessed there. I guess if you like pop music its okay. I remember when the Black Keys came along and thinking how refreshing it is that someone is putting this sound out!
