That's a good explanation. Appreciate you clearing that up.

I will add though I have heard of My Morning Jacket and I think they are terrible. But music is so subjective and tastes vary so much from person to person. Like I said before I respect all musicians, including MMJ, even though I can't stand to listen to them.

Yeah very subjective. I didn't like MMJ the first time I heard it. I don't like a lot of music the first or even second go around. Sometimes it's months or years before I come back to something. I'll add, that I bet you've not heard 5 MMJ songs.

That's a serious cry by the way.

Boring... that makes me sad to hear, not my favorite song but don't think this is boring.

You're right.... There is a reason but that reason has everything to do with marketability and business and has nothing to do with talent and music quality

Again, these are popular in the indie-folk scene, but I think they're still deserving of more attention:

The Head and the Heart
Cave Singers
Sea Wolf

Cave Singers are great.

I haven't listened to Head/Heart much, but people I respect like them a lot.

THATH is unique and they put on an absolutely awesome live show.

If they weren't so vocal in their Obama support, they'd be my perfect band.

Just curious, but what have you heard from them?

Personally, I have no idea how anyone could find them boring, but to each his own.

I'll second Dr Dog. I love that band and they're even better live. I saw them on a Monday night a couple years ago and they were on fire.

Yeah, Dr Dog such a good live band. I can see guys like that putting out the full effort on a Monday.

And yeah, I can understand someone not liking MMJ, but calling it boring just doesn't make sense to me. I don't think someone could say that if they're really familiar with them.

I watched your links. No doubt that band has talent, that music just doesn't do it for me.

That's cool. Glad you checked out the links.

A couple days ago the Jack White/Beck thread cracked me up. Back and forth comments, one person said White is hands down better, next comment said the same for Beck. I'm glad this is a subjective thing without a right or wrong.
