The last album I remember being this good was lost in a dream by war on drugs. Album is good front to back. If its not the best since then, what is?

Fill in the blank

Oh, if you can see them live, their show was really awesome. When they went all ballady, they weren't that great but when they rocked it was the best music I have seen in years.

It's very good, but I don't know if I'd go that far.

The War on Drugs will hold that title for a while IMO, but I do like this album

well I am trying to think of something indie rock wise that was better.

I really liked the grimes album, but that isn't rock in the slightest.

It's definitely my favorite of the year and my favorite since Lost in a Dream. Assuming you don't consider Carrie and Lowell indie rock at least. And I wouldn't.

I'd put the last two Beach Slang records ahead of it..

I like it, but think the Whitney album blows it out of the water (if you consider that indie rock).

His album last year, Teens of Style and some of his earlier DIY bandcamp albums are really good too, although not as good as Teens of Denial.

the whitney album is absolutely solid. Its probably my #3 of the year.

And seaward, I do like his last album too. Good stuff on it. A tad overemotional at points but solid

I know everyone loves it, but that War on drugs album just didn't do anything for me.

Did you listen to it enough, though?

Took a few plays for me. The first half especially is 10/10

I didn't really like War on Drugs (or Beach Slang, who also gets a ton of hype). But this is great. Big fan of Car Seat Headrest. Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales is epic.

Though Modern Baseball, Pinegrove, and the Hotelier all have pretty great albums this year, too.

Music on an independent label, usually post-punk.

That's probably my favorite track on the album. One of the best of the year.

I don't mind war on drugs... but I don't hold them in as high a regard as a lot... never want to put that record on..

That pretty much sums up my attitude. I don't think they suck or anything, but War on Drugs barely moves my needle. I am digging the hell out of Car Seat Headrest. Reminds me a lot of the Cloud Nothings first record, when it was still bedroom punk.
