Make no mistake about it, KLSU is a predominantly Indie-driven station.
I was a dj there a few years ago with a classic rock and heavy metal show. I didn't exactly share many musical interests with my fellow cohorts.

Sirius/XM is almost as bad about repeating songs as FM Radio. I ditched it because I ended up hearing the same songs over and over.
91.1 KLSU is about the only music station I listen to, beside 88.7 KRVS in Laffy.
I listen to CDs and Pandora. It beats FM radio.

I had a rental car a few weeks ago that had Sirius...boy that was nice to have

I had an auxiliary input installed in my car at Best Buy a couple of years ago. Well worth the money. I got it done as a gift from my folks so not sure about exact price, but I wanna say $120?? Now I just play spotify or itunes through the AUX. Well worth it.

Sounds great to me on both counts!
And, they're not really playing much gangster rap. They do play shite like Lupe Fiasco, and lots of local (Baton Rouge/NOLA) rap, which is fine. Quite often it's pretty good, and certainly is better than the bullshite rap like Jay Z or some other crap, or that lousy stuff they play on 94.1.
In my own car I listen to the 15,000 or so songs I keep on the SD card in my phone. Those songs are from just about any genre you can name. If something comes on I'm not in the mood for, relief is just a stab of finger away.
