I really liked the Bon Iver- Bon Iver.

I heard a couple of tracks from the new album and must say I'm not impressed.

Have any of you given it a listen?

Yes. It's damn good. Easily in my top 5 of the year.

I just listened for the first time today, so it's too early to say. Hard to keep up with all the new, highly rated music released in the past month or so.

The one song I have heard multiple times, 8 Circle, was nice.

Wife and I were just listening to this on way back from Band of Horses in Tulsa. We liked it a lot. Of course, we also like James Blake a lot, which is what this reminds me of.

When I first heard the single a few months ago I wasn't really about it because of how different it sounded.

Now, I can't stop listening to the album, it's simply phenomenal. Just give it a full listen and let it marinate.

33 "GOD", 29 #Strafford APTS, and 666 are my favorites

The song titles and spellings simply reek of one a pretentious douche would make.

And I physically own a copy of Bon Iver - Bon Iver...

I'm going to be honest.. I'm not feeling it. I'm 4 listens in now, and feel like I'm forcing it. 29 #Straffords APTS, 8 (circle), and ___45___ are good tracks though. But I think the album is a little too esoteric for me.

No doubt, that was one of the things that turned me off at first. Still not even going to attempt to figure out what the shite it means.

Talk about an example that certain music isn't for everybody.

It gets better with repeated listens. 2 and 3 are the worst songs imo, but the rest are great.

I like it but I don't love it. I would rank it below Bon Iver and For Emma. It does get better with repeat listens, but that is true for pretty much any decent record. It is definitely good music for chilling out.

My favorite tracks are 29 #Strafford Apts, 8 (circle), 45, and 1000000 million

I am a big Sufjan Stevens fan, and I see some similarities between this album and Age of Adz. A little too much artificiality on both; they are at their best without the bells and whistles. On the other hand, experimentation is good, and at least he's not being lazy and doing the same thing over and over.

On a different note, the other new album I've been listening to is St Paul and the Broken Bones - Sea of Noise, which is amazing.

Same idea popped in my head. Adz sounded so much better live, and I bet this album is the same.

I've been really enjoying this album. It's got a good unique sound and some great vocal melodies.
