Blind Melon is always thought of as a one-hit wonder, and I never even gave their next two albums, Soup and Nico, a listen before about a week ago and I was really impressed. Hoon had a great voice and I love how varied their sound is. Shame they came to an end so quick.

They put an amazing show as well. I saw them a few times live. I still have the ticket stub from the night shannon died.

Couldn't agree more. All of their songs are great.

Actually, i lived in nj at the time. I saw them like 2 weeks before he died. But my friend was living in nola at the time, he knew i was a huge fan, so instead of getting a refund, he sent me the stub.

I'm a big fan. Always wonder what they could've done had they had more time. Mouth full of cavities is right up there for me too.

I hate hearing them called a one hit wonder, as no rains success seems to diminish the quality of the rest of the catalog. Change is probably pretty close to the top of my most played in iTunes (especially if you include a few various live versions in the total count)

I can't lie, I tried to like Blind Melon but I just don't. I don't like his voice or the sound. No Rain is the only song I've heard from them that I like at all.

dang, I know that Woodstock footage is from the early/mid 90's but it looks straight from 1973.

No Rain is the polar opposite of the rest of their work. So I can understand why you would say that if you love No Rain. The rest of us prob like No Rain the least of all

I'm with you. Better lead singer and they would be a very good band IMO. I just can't dig his voice in many of the songs. Not all, but a good many..

Oh, I like some of their songs but in many of them I have to overcome his voice. Just personal preference. I like a strong voice normally and his isn't.

Who the hell considers them a one hit wonder?

Both albums are incredible (soup and blind melon)
