Even Peart is in awe of the GOAT Buddy Rich. Check what he put together in "Burning For Buddy".

What does 7-11 coffee and Ginger Baker have in common?

"They both suck without Cream"

What's the difference between a Bull and Buddy Rich's band?

"The Bull has horns in the front and its a-hole in the back"

Many worthy drummers have been listed, but some exceptional New Orleans drummers have been omitted:

James Black: LINK

Earl Palmer: LINK

Stanton Moore: LINK Solo at 1:15. I've seen Galatic 35+ times and never saw this. I feel deprived.

Zigaboo: LINK Zigaboo gets two. Mac is way toasted in this video. LINK

For Starters. N.O. is the drum capital of the Western Hemisphere.

Bonzo - hell yeah
Ginger - duh
Ringo - yeah, I said it
Bill Bruford - Yes, King Crimson
Charlie Watts - get with the program, you guys
Buddy Rich - check
Art Blakey - f'n legend
Kreutzman/Hart - double trouble
Bun E. Carlos - personal reasons and big loud
Herlin Riley - N.O. proud

Amazing submissions guys, love versatility in performance and the ability to maintain rhythm and all the aforementioned drummers possessed that capability just awesome

Moon was the perfect fit for The Who. However if you were take him out of that gig, I'm not sure it works as well. Of course Moon will always be judged against Bonham, Paice and Baker from that generation, which is a tough class.
