Looking to get a new guitar and really eyeing a semi hollow body, as I'm a big blues and jazz fan.

The Gibsons might be out of my price range so how at the Epiphone or Washburns?

is a full hollow. Epiphone Sheriton is semi and would fit the bill. Great guitar.

Good choice. I can also recommend the Jay Turser JT-133.

Have a MIK Echotone. Switched out the pups and put B-Stock Gibson 57s/57+ (perfectly fine, cases they came in were cracked) in the bridge. People are shocked when I tell them my total investment in the guitar is only $450.

It's my #1 for gigs right now.

A Hagstrom Viking would be cool, too.

Ibanez AM93 or AS93.

AM93 street price is under $600.

Now - the pickups aren't everybody's cup of tea (I like them) - but everything else is solid - if I were buying a SH today, this the AM93 is the one I would get.

+1

I think the Sheraton he'd find in the stores now is called the Sheraton II. Very nice guitar for the price, and as you pointed out t is a semi-hollow, not a full hollow body like the Casino.

PRS S2 Semi-Hollow Mira is the answer. Can be found for $1k and they are extremely nice guitars. PRS Guitars

Ibanez Artcore. I've got one of the semi-hollow's after Katrina, love it. It's probably a Maple ply body, but it's so warm and comfortable. I never cared for the Ibanez wizard necks, but this one's not like that. I think I paid $300 for it at Guitar Center.

I would also recommend the Ibanez Artcore. Very inexpensive and surprisingly great sound and playability.
