From Egg Man to Hey Ladies, some of the best shite ever laid down on wax.

That section of the album is above board. Tracks 4-8.

The rest is ancillary stuff but that 16 minutes or so is legit game changing hip-hop.

KEXP in Seattle spent 12 hours breaking down the album. They would spin off and play the original songs they sampled from. Scroll down on the linked page to see all of the songs they sampled. A copyright lawyer estimated in 2011 they would've had to pay $20 million in copyright fees to make the album.

I love the Shake yo Rump beat.

That album is a rap masterpiece.

Yeah I listened to it live at work for the first six hours when it originally aired. Just revisited it this afternoon. In general they sampled damn good music. A lot of the credit needs to go to the Dust Bros.

It was made in the 80's
The way the dust brothers mixed that album was way ahead of its time.
Every track is awesome.
Every one.
Bboybouilliabase is the icing on the cake.
Well crafted album.
I can't argue with top hip hop album of all time.

I wish KEXP would have remembered to include Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun.

I would go so far as to say this album is great more because of the Dust Brothers than because of the Beasties. Its one of the best produced albums of all time.
