All-Star lineup for any funk fans on here. I'm also really pumped for the late night shows: Floozies with half of Lettuce and John Medeski at the Republic doing a live set and the basically everyone from the fest doing a Bernie Worrel tribute at The Howlin Wolf on Saturday.

WAY too heady for me, but hope they do well.

Anyone else going to this? I just bought a Saturday ticket. Bout to get weird with Wayne Coyne.

Cant decide between this and LSU game. Did Bear Creek at Suwanee in 09 and it was great.

I have heard they only sold 500 tickets. They will lose a ton of money on this

Seems like a very expensive ticket for the quality of lineup - i'll probably skip it for football honestly.

If that show last night at Joy theater is any indication, yes, money will most certainly be lost.
Good music, sparce crowd.

I'd also be more inclined to go if it was at a better location where you could enjoy this weather a little bit better instead of MGW

Too much $$ for the product.
If it cost half as much, i would start thinking about going.

Yea that too. Early October in south Louisiana is sexy as a mother fricker.

I am pretty sure they have an outdoor stage, which would be ideal for this weather.
As far as the price of the ticket versus the lineup, yes. This is quite the targeted audience here. Seems like a they're keying in on the same musicians playing more than once, but with different lineups.
Only so many jam sessions I can handle.

They are doing 2-for-1 VIP tickets at the door today. Poor bastards.

NO ONE is at this thing. That's what happens when you have mediocre acts at top billing prices.
Posted on 10/1/16 at 4:37 pm to CrazyCow202
Was going to go, but the price is absurd. Great bands, but grossly overpriced.

Bear Creek looked like the shite stinker of the decade.

Sad to hear because it has potential to be good at that location. Can only see Nigel Hall and Eric Krasno so many times with an overpriced ticket.

any word on actual turnout numbers? What the over / under set at? 1,500 per day?
Posted on 10/2/16 at 5:26 pm to Sneaky__Sally
I'd say 1,500 people per day is a pretty generous assessment. It was unbelievable how few people were there, but not surprising considering the price.
That being said, it was a blast for those of us that went. Front row for every show with a lot of great sit ins and got to rub elbows with all of the artists. Glad I got to be there this year because I doubt that it will be back, they most definitely lost a ton of money.

Good Lord. Mardi Gras World tops out at 15,000 for a sold out Buku. Must have felt like a private show.

Friday night had probably a third of the crowd that Saturday had. I went last night and had a great time. Wayne Coyne is still weird as ever but it was enjoyable. Lotus and Lettuce rocked the stage. I also saw only one pass out, that's the fewest I've seen at any festival.
