yeah but there's a difference between UGK and southern hip hop and the trap popularized by EDM today.
the original version is more cut and dry hip hop, the new iteration has big drops, not dissimilar from dubstep, but without weird, r-tarded modem sounds and mostly huge, blunted bassdrum moments instead.
