doesn't matter if over/in ear.

i have a tendency to tear them up, no matter the quality of construction. i do not want to go wireless because i am afraid of change.

thanks

Sennheisers always break on me. So I guess don't buy Sennheiser.

I go through about 10 pairs of earbuds a year because of a combination of my dog liking them as cookies and general forgetfulness I keep buying them because they are cheap and I run with them

I bought some cheap protection ear muffs/headphones for when I mow my grass. Biggest piece of shite ever. So don't buy those. Bought them on Amazon

Sony MDR-7506

Radio DJs -- at least back when radio used to have DJs -- use 'em. Ask anyone in radio: DJs can tear up most anything handed to them.

Plus they're plenty loud. The headphones, that is.

I have seen them at Fry's for <$100.

My guess is the headphones aren't the problem then...

Still breaking them in, but they are pretty high quality from what I can tell.

Shure SRH440 Professional Studio Headphones

Kind of wishing I had gotten noise cancelling though, since I travel quite a bit. But so far so good.

I can confirm this. They are the only DJ headphones that I've seen last over 10 years. The joints are made with metal, not plastic like the rest of the crap headphones.
