Seen this video numerous times and I get the same thing from it every time:
That audience didn't deserve that song or that performance. 99% of them don't even know who Hendrix, much less who Bob Dylan is. Most when shown on camera are bored as shite thinking why are you not playing "You're Body is a Wonderland'.
Mayer has enough money. Wish he would do what he is best at which is the John Mayer Trio blues stuff and leave the pop shite behind.

SRV was gone prior to me being able to watch him live.... would've paid damn near anything to watch that cat play live.

He was one that was taken far too soon.

Aw c'mon, I think these pre-teen girls were hearing Jimi right here.

On second thought, they might've just been listening.

Wow. Thank you for that. I had never seen that version. Just had the hardest jam at my work desk haha.
I loved all the riffs paying homage to Jimi and Bob. JM is a madman

I saw John Mayer in 2007 at JazzFest. He played after Galactic and came out for their last song, shredding a version of Led Zep's "Immigrant Song." It was awesome.
From NOLA.com writeup:
I can't seem to find a video of it right now, but the song is on iTunes.

For his first hour at the Acura Stage, Mayer served his two masters, alternating keen guitar solos with sly pop hooks.
He exorcised any latent hard rock tendencies by joining New Orleans' Galactic for an epic instrumental charge through Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song." His own set opened with a brief bout of guitar noodling.
