I've been a huge fan for over 20 years but my love for vintage AIC is still growing. Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell both have very different but amazing voices. Their harmonies, especially on the acoustic stuff, are second to none. Layne Staley's voice in particular is incredible. He showcases it perfectly in the song Love, Hate, Love. It is booming and powerful.

So what do you think of the new singer? I don't think he's too bad, but he's not Layne Staley.

Layne Staley started doing drugs to get closer to his father...does not get more sad than that.

Cantrell is sort of the lead singer now with DuVall on backing vocals. I know on the last two albums, DuVall has only been the lead on maybe 5 tracks.

I love both the 90s AiC and the modern band. As long as Cantrell is involved, they will be great.

He's a good singer. I've bought all the new stuff and tried to get into it. Some of it's pretty good but it's tough to get into. It's just not AIC to me.

Cantrell is a great songwriter and underrated guitarist for that style.

AIC is tGOAT band. The fact that they basically put a bullet in the back of Metallica's head is so under-appreciated. This is coming from a huge Metallica fan.

What do you mean they put a bullet in metallica's head? Metallica is my favorite band of all time, Alice in chains is number 2. Jerry Cantrell and the 3 senior members of Metallica are very good friends.

I think you might be over analyzing a bit. That was just a joke between friends.

I generally like mad season with a passion and get upset that they don't play it on the radio.

We don't know that. There's tons of other bands that cut their hair and never caught any flack for it.

Also, that era of Metallica wasn't that bad. Load is a great album. It's easily the most underrated album in their collection. ReLoad is a notch below Load but still a good record with a few great songs. Garage Inc was a cover album but it was awesome. The Mercyful Fate mashup is badass.

Couldn't agree more- the loss of Layne was too deep...

Cliffs hair sucked. He'd probably have went bald. Guys get old. It is ok.

that they had already done called 'Garage Days Revisted: the $5.99 EP', which was released way before they cut their hair. They just added a few more songs to it.
