Album and singles charts are worthless

Especially in country. Country music fans are so damn fickle. Anything that's new will sell. It doesn't matter how bad it is.
When looking at the mainstream country charts, is it really impressive anymore to be a chart topper? Luke Byran could put an album out that just has him reading the phone book and itd be number one within a week.
Brett Eldredge just realeased his new album last week and it's number one. Brett Eldredge. I guess Thomas Rhett's will take the top spot next week.
Also singles. Radio stations love to give you to top singles sales but it's always just the top songs played on the radio. I'll be impressed when a Chris Stapleton or Wade Bowen song or album hit the top. Until then, spare me the news that "Strip it down" is number one.

Especially if he mentioned a truck bed, catfishing, girl in shorts, you know all the requirements of a good country song now

Exactly. He wouldn't even need his band. Just drop a beat and start reading.

The only reason I know who Luke Bryan is is from people complaining about him. I have made it this far without hearing any of his songs.

How do they measure sales? Is it by downloads? Its hard to imagine enough 15 year old girls downloading Luke Bryan and Brett Eldridge to make them number 1.

Country music has taken a huge dive in being even remotely good compared to the 80's and 90's..... Its just terrible now...........
