Worst club era ever. I sincerely apologize. The bar was raised too high in 60-70s. Only recent garbage can match the 80s.

Or are we talking Yucatan Liquor Stand/Bayou Mama's/Tower Theater?

i went to LSU 85-90. in 86 (or 87) we took a road trip up to NYC with my roomie (mung can testify) and hung out at several hot NYC clubs (limelight, save the robots (known locally as the 'savage') and was amazed at the club kids or whatever they were called that went all out with the costumes.
fun stuff. moved to houston in 90 and started going to trash disco at tower theater then red square and power tools (my all time FAV club!) and a little mix of #s, bayou mama and yucatan (saw the fixx there)
by 92 i was worn out of the club scene and preferred to drink at lola's and emo's which is pretty much where i hung out for 3-4 years.
