Not an all-time top 10, but just your favorite SNL cast members. I'm 29, so I missed out on watching a lot of the greats. No Eddie Murphy, John Belushi or Gilda Radner.

1. Will Ferrel
2. Bill Hader
3. Chris Farley
4. Darrell Hammond
5. Kristen Wiig
6. Adam Sandler
7. Andy Sanderg
8. Ana Gasteyer
9. Will Forte
10. Rachel Drache

Best up and coming right now is Kate McKinnon IMO.

I scrolled about 4 pages and didn't see it. I'm sure it's germans but I don't really care.

So no one from the first 15 years of the show?

I give him most of the credit when it comes to the digital shorts. If it were based on just his live characters, he wouldn't be anywhere near the top 10.

It's subjective to your age and your opinion. I was 9 in 94' when I started watching. Not gonna have many cast members before then.

My favorites are (in no particular order):

1. Dana Carvey
2. Phil Hartman
3. Eddie Murphy
4. Will Ferrell
5. Chris Farley
6. Mike Myers
7. Jan Hooks
8. Victoria Jackson
9. Kevin Nealon
10. Jon Lovitz

I guess it's pretty easy to see which era was my favorite. But I grew up watching it in the late 80s, early 90s and those sketches still stand out to me.

Considering ONLY their work on SNL:

1. Eddie Murphy
2. Phil Hartman
3. Will Ferrell
4. Dan Aykroyd
5. Dana Carvey
6. Mike Myers
7. John Belushi
8. Kristin Wiig
9. Chris Farley
10. Darrell Hammond

If I were to do a "dream team" of 10 members, who I thought could generate the synergy together to create consistently funny stuff every single week, this is what I would go with:

Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Phil Hartman, Kristin Wiig, Dan Aykroyd, Will Ferrell, John Belushi, Adam Sandler, Molly Shannon and Bill Murray.

That thread was more of an All-Star cast, not a personal favorite cast. At least that is how I took it when I posted in that thread and this one.

You could tell the OP was pretty young by his list. Only 2 from the late 80's/early 90's.

For me, Eddie Murphy is number 1. He could do it all. He could play a ghetto black guy (Tyrone Green); and old Jewish man (Gumby); a gay man (Little Richard Simmons); and sing and dance like James Brown or Stevie Wonder. No one was as laugh out loud funny as he was.
