Your thoughts on this season of Newsroom

Haven't been seeing much discussion but I thought this season has been really good.
The whole Genoa storyline is somewhat different from last season where they seemed to focus on actual news reportings but I think it's been done well
This weeks episode seemed a bit more fast paced with the story falling apart.
Just wondering what others opinions are since I haven't seen a thread on the show in a while.

I refuse to talk about it.
It will inevitably get derailed with political nonsense.

Ok. I understand that the DC guy altered the interview tape of the General saying they used Serrin Gas, but was it b/c he never admitted it or that he just didn't get it on tape? He claims he said it , but it wasn't on tape.....BUT the Navy Director lied about the receipt to enact revenge for his dead son who was fired from the Network. So, which is it?

It was because he edited the tape. The general never said it.

The general said Genoa happened which it did. He never lied about that. He just would never say that they used Sarin.

Much more balanced thus far than last season.

im not even sure why the general would entertain the question, even if he said the words "if we used sarin"
i've enjoyed the structure of this season, where they show you early that the story failed them, and then they've shown the build up of the story, and now its downfall

100% agree. i like that Sorkin changed it up. don't do the same thing season after season. it would get old too fast.
i've enjoyed this season. no episode has blown me away, but they have all been pretty solid. the most recent episode was pretty damn good and interesting.

eta: and i think people are afraid to start threads on it for fear of being persecuted on this board by the righteous right

The focus off of the Tea Party and on the fictional Genoa story has been a lot better. I have really enjoyed this season. I liked the first season, but I thought it was too preachy.
I don't want to hear about the media saving the world. I like seeing the drama behind the scenes of getting the story and putting it on the air. I think they have done a good job of doing that this season.

I enjoyed season 1 and took it for what it was and didn't get hung up in the politics of the show.
Season 2 has been better in every way. I love the change in format to make it more fictional than just showing current events a year or two after they happened.

I think it's been great...love this show.
The last couple of episodes have the best of the series...interesting, funny, compelling...great casting and acting.

I've thought the writing and acting has been significantly worse this season than last but I believe I am in the minority on that one

writing has been better, IMO.
acting about the same. no better, no worse. i like the extra focus on Sloan's character.

Last weeks was by far the best episode of the series. Think the show is starting to find its legs.

I really like the show. It's one of the few shows I am currently watching. I usually don't watch it live b/c the only other shows I watch all come on Sundays (breaking bad, ray donovan, dexter). In fact I usually watch Newsroom later in the week. I happen to be up late working last night and watched this past weeks episode. Best one so far in my opinion.

Yep. More of Sloan's would help even more.
There certainly are some fair complaints about the show I've heard . . . still smug; occasionally too "cutesy". But it's very, very watchable. I like it

I was gonna start a thread on this after finishing the episode last night.
I thought this season has been far more interesting. Genoa story line has been good and it'll be interesting to see what Will, Mac, and Charlie do next.

Hilarious to watch a show based on Olbermann's old news show and to flip over to see him yukking it up on ESPN2.
And the Newsroom still sucks. The wife watches it while I roll my eyes, groan, and laugh out loud.
