what are your favorite movies all time, EXCLUDING movies with action, crime, war, violence etc. Essentially I'm asking what are your favorite movies that aren't male centric. Exclusions include, Pulp fiction, godfather, terminator, heat, braveheart, etc.

Almost Famous
American Beauty
Sideways
Adaptation
Philadelphia
Leaving Las Vegas

Browsing through my collection of about 50 blu rays which features my all time favorites, its hard to find many that aren't disqualified. I want to put Shawshank Redemption and Assassination of Jesse James on my list but there is enough of a crime element to DQ them.

I really liked Gone With The Wind. It's one of the few female oriented/ feminist films with well-rounded strong central male characters. Also, I can't ever recall another female character being on-screen for as long as Scarlett in GWTW. And Leigh was brilliant and compelling every second she was on screen. In my mind, It was unquestionably the GOAT performance by a actress in film history.

I'm not talking about male centric in regards to the cast, I'm talking about the subject matter. Basically I'm asking what are your favorite dramas(or comedies) that don't have an element of crime, action/violence, warfare, etc.

Yeah, I really don't understand OP's qualifications. Am I supposed to pick my favorite stereotypically sissy movie?

Your elements to exclude are arbitrary and nebulous.
