I finally watched it last night. It wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting.

It had its faults. I hated how they fricked up Psylocke since she is one of my favorite characters.

They were too concerned with getting someone who looked like Psylocke, instead of fleshing out the character.

It was as if they followed the BvS blueprint for WW. . .and they thoutght, "well, at least we'll get one that looks like her."

post I made from another Xmen Apocalypse thread:

ive enjoyed all the xmen movies except X3 (though DOFP was very meh), but Apocalypse was bad. Watched it on the plane back from London last week and was very disappointed.

spent too little time with too many characters to where you didn't give a shite about anyone. Love Isaac but he didnt work as Apocalypse. you pretty much need a giant CGI Apocalypse with a badass voice, not what we got. None of the non-Magneto Horsemen were interesting (they have a combined like 15 lines) and it's the same old bullshite with Magneto's storyline.

you keep waiting for the movie to pick up and it never does. the climax is very lame too. the ham-fisted shoving of JLaw down our throats is awful as well. mystique is fricking worthless but they have to bump her role up because shes famous. just dont cast her.

they need a new screenwriter, Kinberg has lost his touch with these last two. some fun setpiece moments like the others, but it didnt have the charm of the previous Singer/Vaughan movies

nowhere near as Batman v Superman, fwiw. that almost made me hijack the plane and fly it into the ocean to kill myself

I enjoyed it.

Singer did a great job with a certain scene involving Jean Grey...sort of made up for Last Stand.

It was good. Not DoFP good, but still very enjoyable.

I wish Apocalypse was more like the comics version. His voice in the movie just wasn't cutting it to me. Always pictured him with a more snarly deep, booming voice.

Yeah, I didn't hate it nearly as much as the internet told me I should. Entertaining popcorn movie. As a one-time comics nerd, I accepted a long time ago that the characters on screen are going to be different than I remembered. I wouldn't have minded a little more on Apocalypse's origin and how he acquired the technology.

Not yet but the more you think about it the more you will start to be disappointed in it. It just felt rushed out to the point that it felt like the pre production meetings started off with "Welp, time to make another XMen... again..." The fact that it can't even keep continuity from the previous movie even though it shares the same director and writers is a nice reminder of how it feels lazily slapped together.

I had fun watching it.

Magneto's scene at the concentration camp was worth the price of admission.

I was confused at the end.

Magneto just spent like 10% of the movie just wrecking the world and probably killing millions but I guess everyone was cool with that since he is hanging out at the school at the end smiling and being friendly.

I used to take you halfway seriously on your movie opinions, even though you hate everything.

Then you said that you are in your early 20's?

This explains why you claim to hate all things that are popular.

Never heard that before. One of the lamest, most tired arguments out there

Like I always say, nobody wants to talk when I compliment or praise movies, they just want to remember when I'm critical. I don't need validation, and I ESPECIALLY don't need it from you

This is what's bugged me about previous X-Men movies. Magneto does something awful but Xavier just shakes it off and is friendly with him at the very end. Every damn one of them it seems like.

Just a heads up, you don't need to use the yawning pic if you are typing out tired and lame.

First Class was a cut above the other recent x-men installments. Matthew Vaughn is so much better than Bryan Singer.

I didn't think is was bad. It was middle of the road for me as far as Xmen movies go. It's not nearly as bad as Origins Wolverine.
