Comes out October 16th. I, for one, am pumped and hope this movie will be a spark that brings this country back to the love of God.

Hey fellow Knight. Doesnt really have anything to do with the real Woodlawn, does it? (curious)

As in Woodlawn High in Birmingham? Yes.

This is another cheesy Christian propaganda movie. Hard pass. This will be a terrible movie.

I've heard from a few people that have seen it that it's pretty good. We'll see. I'm always hesitant about sports movies. The action is usually laughable and way too obviously scripted.

It's not the sports part that I'm worried about, though your concerns are valid, it's the cheesiness that permeates all of these faith based films that make them awful movies.

I will definitely watch. Coach Tandy Gerelds was my high school coach in the late 80's - early 90's at Deshler High School in Tuscumbia, AL. He is one of the greatest men I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

Heard Glenn Beck and Jon Voight promoting it this morning. After hearing the pitch on Beck, it made me want to go see it, but after watching the trailer, it suggests it's yet another anti-racism film. I've simply grown tired of those. I get it! I love Voight and his personal values. The trailer has him doing a pretty good job as Bear Bryant. Is there any other storyline in the movie other than overcoming racism? Thanks in advance.
Trivia question: What other movie has Voight been cast as the Head Coach of an SEC team?

I have mixed interest. Cautious of the likelihood that it will be Christian cheese, excited to watch Voight portray the Bear. From the looks of it, he should play Bryant in a more biographical film.

No. Trailer looks terrible and way too preachy.

Watched tonight. Really liked it. The guy playing Tony's Dad is from New Orleans. I saw him in a play in November.

I saw it a couple of weeks back. I thought it was a pretty good movie though it's obvious the film had a low budget. The padding on the uniforms were too modern and Legion Field, during the climatic football game, is missing an upper deck that would have been present in 1974. CGI could have fixed that but they obviously didn't have the money or inclination to digitally add it back in there.

It's not too bad cheesy.
I will add the standard disclaimer, ***Possible Spoilers*** although not really.
Voight/Bryant doesn't have a lot of screen time. It's mainly about Tony Nathan and the Woodlawn/Burns HS rivalry and when Tony Nathan and Jeff Rutledge were playing at their respective Birmingham schools, being coached by Tandy Geralds (at the beginning of his career) and Shorty Price, the coaches of Woodlawn and Burns, respectively.
The parts with Rudy and the "Jesus Revolution" aren't too bad in your face or shoved down your throat and neither are the racial parts really, IMO.
I got it from RedBox when it came out and its worth a cpl bucks whenb you have a cpl hours, esp if you are familiar with any of the people being portrayed.
I'm from North AL and my HS was a big rival with Deshler. So, maybe, I found it more interesting than others that aren't familiar with any of the people in the story might.
But as was mentioned you can tell it wasn't a big budget film. But it doesn't really take anything away from the movie/story.
Also Tony Nathan is played by Caleb Castille, who's Dad is Jeremiah Castille and brothers are Tim and Simeon and all played at UA. They were/are very active with FCA.

They really weren't and, at first, I was expecting they would be. The film kept my interest the entire time.
