"Why w/ Hannibal Burress" on CC

I'm a huge fan of his standup and have only seen two episodes (maybe there are only two so far) but it's been disappointing. I wanted it to be so much better.
For anyone else watching, am I being overly critical? Maybe he needs to settle in. But usually the first few episodes are packed with great ideas that you've always had before you even get a show but everything seems to fall flat. I'm hoping it will turn around bc i think HB is solid.

Only 2 eps so far. It's been ok but not great I'm holding out hope though.

I didn't care for the episode I saw.
I like his stand up and other acting jobs though.

I've only seen one episode, but he seemed a little uncomfortable. Show also seemed a little unorganized, like not really sure of what it is yet.

Agree. He's had a development deal with them for a couple years and it almost seems like they couldn't come up with a good idea so they just stuck him in this format.

I like him a lot, but this show is just God awful.

Sometimes a guy can make really funny observations and kind of slow-burn jokes that just don't have enough pop to work as the basis for a TV show. I think that applies to him.
He should stick with his spot on Broad City. That show is the bomb.

First episode was comically bad. I have the second one recorded but haven't watched yet

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Comedy Central continues on it's quest to create the next "Chappelle's Show" by finding up and coming comics and giving them their own show. Amy Shumar worked I guess, but all the others that they've tried have failed.

At least they're trying. It's better than another reality or talent contest show.

I watched it for the first time tonight the PETA segment was funny but that's about it.

this is exactly what it feels like
there's a moment in episode 3 where he just stops talking like he's bombing on stage. How does that make it to TV?

Finally got around to watching this. It's really sad. I think Hannibal is the funniest standup comic working right now but this format doesn't play to his strengths at all. He seems like a fish out of water.

Comedy Central is floundering pretty hard right now.
