Why is titanic not in the imdb top 250?

Jeez, i mean, i know the script can be a little cheesey at times with lines like "a woman's heart is an ocean full of secrets" but this movie deserves more credit than that. Won 11 academy awards which is tied for most ever won at the oscars. Also held the record for highest-grossing movie of all time for ten years. Not to mention the great soundtrack, costumes, and special effects made it that much better. I understand if people maybe dont like it for the love story, but at least appreciate it as a decently accurate depiction of one of the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

Too long. Beautiful visuals, and some fine supporting roles, but the wooden leads, poor execution of the main story just leave the movie as substantial as cotton candy - pretty, but not much there of substance.

If we're being honest, James Cameron is an incredibly overrated director who made two good Scifi movies 30 years ago who has exceptional marketing skills .

4, baw - T, Aliens, T2 and the Abyss - and I think all 4 were great. True Lies was VERY good. But, hasn't made a good movie since, though.

Rose was a terrible, terrible person who let Jack die because she wanted him to comfort her while her spoiled self sat on the door. She should have told him to find some other bouyant object to float on. She didn't even give him a chance.
Jack was a relatively decent and resourceful guy who fell in love with the wrong girl for no good reason whatsoever. He should have lived.
The whole movie was utterly stupid and I really hate it. Rose lived an utterly selfish life and James Cameron billed it as "salvation." Rose said that Jack saved her in every way she could be saved. If that is true, then Cameron's vision of salvation is a deplorable.
Then, to top it off, Rose throws the diamond into the sea. The diamond that she held onto her whole life. It could have provided for her granddaughter after she died 5 minutes later from being 1000 years old. It also would have been a treasure for people all over the world to marvel over. But, no. She had to throw it into the sea to commemorate the way that she threw Jack into the sea in her other great selfish act in her life.
Man, I hate that movie.

Because we all know Jack sucks at drawing French girls? And poor French girls are terrible art subjects anyway
