Nothing special at all about his performances in any of those movies.
I never said there was. He doesn't have to be fricking Olivier. He just has to be mediocre. And he's better than mediocre in most of those movies, all of which are enjoyable.

Because Boston and New York are major population centers. He represents a demographic from them and can pull off being a "tough guy"

The Departed and Lone Survivor were damn good movies and he played those roles perfectly.

Mark can do drama, action and comedy.

I don't think anybody said Three Kings. And sure he's one-note, but he's been in plenty of dramatic & comedy movies that note worked for imo.

At least he doesn't have AIDS.

I would ask the same about Ben Afleck. To each their own.

How old are you? Did he possibly do your mom during the Good Vibration days?!! I'm sensing some angst

Dude is a peacock, you gotta let him fly!

Why do you keep saying that?
You know peacocks can't fly right?

I only learned that so we could make fun at these sissies back in my neighborhood.

The guy has range. He goes from ball busting badass in the departed to insecure whiny p*ssy in the happening. Dude can be both ends of the spectrum and everywhere in between.

He's done a very nice job of working his way up the Hollywood food chain and is more than just an actor. He's produced a ton of successful stuff and is basically in a position to do his own projects. So one way he will keep getting roles is by being in movies he produces. I'd guess he's also making fricking bank.
