this is an underrated movie discussion topic. i have talked about this with many different people and no one ever knows.
every time this movie is brought up, i ask if sunshine was gay or not and no one has ever been adamant about it either way in response. i have no idea and i cant decide.
i lean towards "just messing with everyone/being the kid from cali" but no clue.

I didn't have to Google. But then again, I've probably seen Remember the Titans 100 times.
IRL Ronnie Bass claims it never happened and married and had 3 kids. So it was probably just a play on what Bertier called him when he first showed up. Without knowing that though, I'd think the movie implied quite a bit that he was a little light in the loafers.

Yeah...according to those who were there at spring camp, Sunshine never kissed anyone. This movie took so many liberties with the actual events that you would think they didn't bother to read about what happened other than the fact that they won the state championship that year.

Yeah, really if you think about, given how many classifications there are, there were probably like 50-75 schools in the south that won state championships the first year they let blacks play with them.
