My answers: Jason Statham or Matt Damon for lead role in a rebooted "They Live." And of course the woman who played that green chick in "Guardians of the Galaxy" for lead role in a rebooted Alien.

I don't think they need to remake Alien (it's probably going to happen), but I'd pick Mary.

Channing Tatum, one of the Ryans or maybe Bradley Cooper for John Nada (Roddy Piper in 1988).
I would lean towards Cooper if pressed to make a decision right now.
I know the OP said "lead" but the supports would be critical, too.
For the Frank Armitage role (played wonderfully by Keith David in the Carpenter original), I like one of the Es (Elba or Ejiofor).
For the street preacher, I'd like to bring Keith David back to try that role.
For the female lead character of Holly Thompson (Meg Foster back in 1988), I like Charlize Theron, Alison Brie or Evan Rachel Wood.
Alien: In all seriousness - JLaw - I think she could own it.
