...I wish he did more movies. But he sort of disappeared.
Now he has a new movie coming out.
I got into his movies with Metropolitan years ago and loved the style but it's not on par with Barcelona.
He has a new flick - Love & Friendship - with Kate Beckinsale and Chloe Sevigny.
Last Days of Disco was sort of meh...but Barcelona is vastly underrated by the movie public - or maybe it's just unknown.
Dialogue makes his movies.
This new movie might be hard to find and eventually just DVD.

he had a pilot on Amazon Prime recently, not sure if it got picked up.
not a huge fan though. the whole bourgie scene is a huge turn off for me, and i always kinda preferred Hal Hartley.
Id highly recommend Trust if you havent seen it.

Really enjoyed Barcelona. Still have yet to see Last Days of Disco, for some reason.

Barcelona is greater knowing the main characters from Metropolitan.

Yeah, a couple of my friends were almost obsessively into Stilman, so I watched Metropolitan and Barcelona almost back to back (this was in the days of video stores when it took a while to find a movie like that). Don't know why I never got around to Last Days of Disco, I'll have to remedy that at some point.

I really liked that movie. It has a great soundtrack. And Kate Beckinsale and Chloë Sevigny when they were both in their early 20s.

People go on about QT's dialogue, but I really like Stillman's dialogue, it's smart, can be pretentious but that's okay sometimes in movies...that preppy-yuppie thing he covers so well.
