Where to take the Halloween franchise?

Rob Zombie all but killed this franchise. They already had a remake so what else is there to do? Laurie is dead and so is Jamie. I would like a direct sequel to H20 with LL Cool J, Harnett, and Michelle Williams back in the mix. Bring back Kevin Williamson too. They could also bring back all of the survivors from the past films like Paul Rudd and Bianca Kajich.

How bout they take the franchise to the archives and leave it there? I loved the originals, but all the remakes- especially Zombie's ultra violent, gory shite show remakes- are a disservice to a great original series.
I'm sick of talentless, unoriginal modern day fricktards remaking (and ruining) once great originals.

I like the idea of trying to continue H20.

The worst thing to happen in any of the movies was the end of Halloween 5 when Michael Myers is literally sitting a jail cell(mask on of course) twiddling his thumbs. Also a trench coat guy breaks him out of jail and I guess we're supposed to believe this murderer who kills everyone just daps the trench coat guy up for the help.

Part 5 had such a stupid ending and they never really followed up on trench coat guy. Was he part of that cult in part 6? I don't think he was even in that. Anyway there's no reason to make any more of these. Come up with a new serial killer and rip off Myers/Jason/Freddy or whatever but at least don't call it Halloween.

I'm hopping for something period.
a. Go back to 78 to see what happened to him between 2 and 4. There's like ten years there. They have to have something to work with.
b. Or just wipe everything out other than 1 and 2 and start over.
