Probably Robin Hood or Jungle Book.

It just isn't. Seriously, tell me how much the plot changes if Eric is Gaston. He very well could be from what the story told us. It also tells girls the most important thing she can do is find a rich husband over anything else. How healthy of a message is that?

It is utterly inferior to Beauty and the Beast for these reasons. It wouldn't fly for today's audience. I would be horrified if my daughter turned out like Ariel. Can't say the same for the other Disney princesses. She deserved much worse than what happened to her in the end.

Well tell me where I'm wrong. Ariel is a character I would go so far as to say should be despised. I have no reason to root for her. She's as dumb as a mop handle and learns nothing in the end. She deserved to join Ursula's garden.

Really, she jeopardizes her whole family on an incredibly stupid deal to get some dick she never met. If there was a movie where a girl bet her entire family and town's net worth on a single space in a roulette wheel to get some dick, then you'd rightfully hate her. That is what Ariel did.

Also a HUGE fan of Robin Hood, and Peter Pan.

Emperors New Groove is hillarious

If we are talking classics then Aladdin. Did everyone realize he goes into a brothel during the opening song?

Honorable mention for Toy Story, Inside Out, and Finding Nemo. Pixar just knows how to do movies.

Sophie's choice
You are evil for asking to pick ONE!
Can't decide between Sword in the Stone and Jungle Book. Rescuers gets a nod as well.

All the 90's classics are great too. Gaston is my idol

That's not what her story is about.

Eric represents the other life that Ariel wants. The life that her father refuses to let her pursue. The whole point of little mermaid is to live life outside of your comfort zone and not be scared to take risks. It's supposed to teach you not to take "well that's just the way it is" as an answer.

It's not about getting strange dick.

I have a 4yr who loves the Little Mermaid. To her, Ariel is curious and brave. She doesn't see all these negatives messages us adults stick on these movies.

Plus she is a mermaid. 4 year old girls love that crap.

As for my favorite Disney movie, it is Tarzan, but if I am honest it is only because I really enjoy Genesis/Phil Collins.

1967 was a long time ago. It's probably one of the last "classic" movies since Walt died the year before and the 70s and 80s were the downfall of the animated film. The focus went hard on live action during that time.
