What was the first multi year series you ever started and finished?

What series started it all for you? Not a rewatch on nexflix or Amazon. You watched as it came out

For me it was ER. I had been married a few years and my wife and I watched the very first episode and was hooked. We watched that damn show every Thursday night for years. Loved the show and would actually like to watch it again

I had watched shows like Andy Griffith , etc but ER was the first big series I watched from start to finish as it evolved....

Life on Mars (US version). Tragically cut at one season.

Maybe Entourage though it was in pieces and I didn't finish it until years after it finished. I did start it when it first started airing. And then maybe Breaking Bad.

I didn't really watch all that much TV until after I graduated college. I actually didn't have cable or Internet at all in my apartment during college.

When I was younger and living at my parents house I would mostly just catches episodes of reruns like Fresh Prince and Cosby Show here and there. I never actually watched series through.

Eta: although after reading your OP a little more closely I'm not sure that either of my two qualify because I temporarily quit both of them and came back.

2nd best show of all time.

I am rewatching it now with my wife. Almost to the end of season 2.

Could just watch that series over and over

Probably some cartoon from when I was a kid. I remember watching a lot of Garfield and friends and stuff like that on saturdays. Or maybe the Disney stuff like Duck Tales and Darkwing Duck.
The first non cartoon is probably The Fresh Prince. I remember seeing the pilot and the last episode real time and I watched it a lot.

Sitcom: Friends

Drama: probably The Sopranos

I started watching ER when it came out but I'm pretty sure I didn't stay with it until the end.

First streaming binge watch was Breaking Bad.

LOST, although I'm sure Game of Thrones will also qualify.

Oh and Legend of Korra.

Pretty much exactly this.

Although when the Simpsons ends, that will become my answer. I still record it and watch every week, even though it's not the same show it once was.
