What was that one movie that just blew you away when you saw it?

I know many will say "Saving Private Ryan" or something along those lines, but I was expecting something epic before I saw it.
I would have to say "Being John Malkovich" or maybe "Man on Fire".
Both movies were just simple masterpieces.

I was very impressed by the first Pirates of the Carribean movie. I remember calling my parents right after we got out of the theater and telling them they absolutely had to see it. It's the only time I've ever felt the need to do that. It was everything a movie should be - I think movies are more about entertainment than about art or delivering a message.
Many of my favorite movies were better the second time I saw them. My GOAT movies are Good Will Hunting and Inglourious Basterds. I saw GWH at home - didn't even see it in the theater. Saw IB at the theater and left a not disappointed (I just wasn't expecting it to be a few different story lines that were linked). Every time I watch it, it gets better - but I wasn't blown away on the initial viewing.

There are about 4 films that completely changed the way I looked at film:
Murder on the Orient Express - First really memorable period piece. More nostalgic than anything. But watched it with my dad when I was sick. Think I was about 13 or 14 at the time.
Seven Samurai - Obvious Reasons.
Pi was like the first real independent film I saw. After that, I began to seek out every single film I could get my eyes on.
City Lights.

At the time I saw it, I thought Armageddon was awesome. I liked it so much, I bought a ticket for the next screening and watched it again.

Deja Vu
I had never heard of it and watched it during the middle of the day on demand.
Amazing.
The Lord of the Rings
I had read the Hobbit. These movies were amazing. I watched it at the theater in Ft. Polk 3 times in a week.

The Godfather. That movie had more character development within its first fifteen minutes than most films have over its entire duration.

Jurassic Park.
I was about 28 years old when I saw it in a third run theater for like 3 or 4 bucks. I told my mom about it and I know I sounded like a 10 year old kid who got to ride a fire truck or something and couldn't wait to tell everyone about it.
I was completely blown away.

The Lord of the Rings
The Balrog scene gave me serious goosebumps.
I sat there in awe thinking "This is why movies were invented."

True Romance
While this movie didn't "blow me away" it is the only movie that right after I finished watching it, I immediately started it over and watched again. It was just so fun
I was 15 yrs old at the time. Or there abouts.

The Matrix opening night. At the time the effects were freaking jaw dropping.
