Stephen Hawking is a piece of crap human being for cheating on his wife with his nurse after everything she went through. Eddie Redmayne didn't deserve all the praise he got for this acting performance

You're right it was very easy to act as if you have ALS, didnt deserve that one bit.

I did not like the movie at all and was thoroughly underwhelmed by Redmayne. I really cannot stand him as an actor. He just seems to constantly overact. I am always aware I am watching an actor when I am watching him.

It could just be my dislike of Hawking that makes me not like Redmayne's performance

Eddie Redmayne deserves his props for that role. I had written him off after watching Jupiter Ascending (I want my 2 1/2 hours of life back) but this showed off his chops IMO.

Off Topic: He was also pretty decent in that mini-series "The Pillars of the Earth" which was pretty legit.

I had read the book beforehand and thought he played Jack perfectly, so I liked him initially. Since then, he has just overacted like crazy. Jupiter Ascending is the perfect example of that, but he did it in Theory of Everything as well. Now I really dislike him and really hope he doesn't get even nominated for that tranny movie he is making.

It was an average film elevated by two strong performances from the leads.

Redmayne may have deserved some praise, but he didn't deserve that Oscar. That's one of those scene chewing roles where you have an advantage over the other actors nominated. He'll have a great shot at the Oscar this year as well, since he's playing another Oscar-ready role as a man trapped in a woman's body.
