What should I watch? (that is on Netflix or HBO Go)

What I've seen:

-Breaking Bad
-House of Cards
-A couple of seasons of Sopranos
-True Detective
-Sherlock
-Game of Thrones

So another serious show that is on the same level as those shows would be preferred.

A few other notes:

I gave The Wire half a season and got bored. I gave Lost about 3 episodes and also got bored. Not interested in Walking Dead.

Twin Peaks? Rome? Dexter? Deadwood? What should I watch?

Friday Night Lights

I've heard good things about Boardwalk Empire, though I've yet to watch it.

Not at all. Fictional show loosely based on the movie. More present day and just cashed in on the success of the movie.

Great watch though. The second season kind of sucks, but don't give up on it.

i didn't read the book or see the movie, but I know that some of the characters are the same. the plot is much different because it runs for 5 seasons, so the characters change half way through (though some of the main ones remain).

season 2 sucks, but the other 4 seasons are some of the best TV i've seen.

Mad Men rally picks up in season 2. Somewhere between about the 8th episode of season 1 and the finale I was hooked.

So far I got:

Friday Night Lights
Rome
Boardwalk Empire
Dexter
Top of the Lake

And I'll throw on Deadwood and Twin Peaks to the list too.

Anybody care to rank these for me?

My buddy talks about this "Arrow" show too. Any good? List worthy?

Seems you get bored with a lot of good television. Did you forget your ADD medicine?

I guess so

I'll give The Wire another try one of these days because everyone jerks off about it so much, but I found it just really really slow

On second thought, don't watch Rome. You'll probably find it slow and boring unfortunately. Damn man.

I just finished Deadwood the other day and I loved it. Can be slow at times and crazy at others but it's certainly on the "drama" side. Al Swearengen is in my top 4 favorite tv characters of all time. He's the fricking man.

Eta: Boardwalk season 3 is unbelievable.
