If one of these is on tv (and I’ll include the Patriot), it’s staying on as background noise til it’s done at the least.

have to disagree, the relationship between Brody and his wife was strained yet rekindled in ways.

The Godfather

That's the one. I can watch that and Godfather II over and over again and find something new each time. I've probably watched each of them at least 30 times now. I'll be in Tahoe next week and intend to drive by the house used as the Corleone estate in Godfather II.

eh

don't get me wrong. it's a perfect movie. I just went with an extra criteria because it's the rare feat to have humor, action, drama, romance, etc. all in one movie without totally fricking it up.

Even w/ those fake arse rubber shark teeth? The shark is comically bad at the end. Otherwise, great movie.

Most of the older ones have already been mentioned, so if I had to pick a couple newer ones I'd go with Whiplash and Ex Machina

Barry Lyndon is really underrated, even by Kubrick fans like me. It is a technical masterpiece and had me completely engulfed in the story when I first saw it

Barry Lyndon is very interesting for me, I think the first half is possibly one if the bets things very put in film, but the sceond half is so damn depressing, it's hard to watch.

It is funny though, super die hard Kubrick fans often cite Barry Lyndon as their favorite of his. It's so technically perfect and beautiful it overwhelms you.

But for their entirety there are very few "perfect" films.

At first thought though, here's my list.

Back to the Future
The Godfather
The French Connection
Heat
The Insider
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Jaws
Rocky
LA Confidential
Casablanca
No Country For Old Men
The Road Warrior
Lost in Translation
The Good the Bad and the Ugly
Once Upon a Time in the West
Ghostbusters
