One of the best sitcoms ever. Great ensemble cast. They lost several key players but kept on rolling -- you can even argue that replacing Coach with Woody and Diane with Rebecca were upgrades. Sam "Mayday" Malone is probably one of the greatest comedic characters ever.

It is only one of the best sitcoms ever.

My brother proclaimed that he hated "old TV shows." I showed him Cheers and he is hooked. He is even more into it than I was.

32. Never watched much tv growing up. Over the course of the last few years, i've tried to catch up on good series that i've missed. Started with The Office, then Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, Suits, 24 to name a few. Just asking if Cheers was a good one. simmer down.

It's pretty good. About a Bar in Chicago. Stars Tony Danza and Matthew Mcconaughey

But after the 2nd season, they're both replaced by Woody Harrelson.

Great show

I am in the middle of Frasier right now and I think I like it more but both are top tier shows

It is one of the great comedies in television history. The characters are all given the chance to carry individual shows and interesting enough to make that fun to watch.

Just one of the greatest television sitcoms in the history of television. If you are over the age of 40, you can't be culturally literate and not know all about it. Those characters are ingrained in the American psyche, very much like Seinfeld.

I mean kids at school would be talking about Cheers. Did you see it last night?

In 1986, NBC was killing it on Thursday Nights...you didn't need the clicker.

8pm - Cosby Show (it was #1 in the ratings)
8:30pm - Family Ties (it was #2 in the ratings)
9:00pm - Cheers (it was #3 in the ratings)
9:30pm - Night Court (#7)
10:00pm - LA Law (#21)

Cheers reached #1 only once though, in 1990. (Cosby beat it out for all of the 80's.)
