WB picks David Goyer to write the "Green Lantern Corps" film. (Updated)

Umm, like the worst news possible. He wrote Man of Steel and Batman V Superman. Next to Snyder, Goyer is the primary reason this universe is such a mess. I think he's well over credited for the success of TDK.

Outside of ole Dick Grayson, John Stewart and Hal Jordan are among my favorite DC characters.

If they were to somehow make "Green Lantern Corps" in the style of Guardians of the Galaxy instead of the moody DC films we're seeing now, it would work great.
For example: Kilowog is far closer to Rocket in terms of personality than Drax.

Aside from the known problems with the DC films, Suicide Squad still tried to tie the cast into existing members of the Justice League (Flash, Batman, Superman) whereas Guardians of the Galaxy had no ties whatsoever to any of the other Marvel films besides Thanos, the six-fingered dude that Ronan killed, and the Infinity Stones.

THIS right here is why it will fail. The only reason John Stewart is made a Green Lantern is to stand-in for Hal Jordan after he's completely incapacitated.

I just... I don't... I just don't get it. I'm a lawyer who used to do civil litigation. If I were to write a bad brief, a brief so bad that the judge, the partners, the other side, the court reporter, the little girl lost in the corner of the courthouse high on acid, and her pet fricking parakeet all laughed at just how bad it was, I would be fired. Swiftly and without mercy. Even if the damn thing resulted in a moderate success for the client.

The DCU reminds me of the NFL. It's retread after retread with these writers/directors. It's like once you are a writer/director for one of their movies, it doesn't matter how good or bad the movie is they will have a job with the next one.

The day that WB allowed Snyder and Goyer any involvement whatsoever with DC properties is the day they signed their own death warrant on great movies they could've made using the most famous comic book characters ever known.

I think they missed their one chance for that with the Suicide Squad. The Suicide Squad was the PERFECT DCEU movie analogous to GotG. WB blew it, and I hope no one goes to anymore of these films.

Fun Fact: Jamie Alexander (Sif) was who the filmmakers originally wanted as Wonder Woman, but her contract with Marvel prevented that from happening.
