Settle down Francis.

It's a Game of Thrones deal. Hodor is a character that is "mentally challenged", and can only say "hodor" (hence why I responded with "hodor".) When the Game of Thrones/ASOIAF non-readers started griping about book spoilers, they were labeled as Hodors, which is still used in their thread titles. So all the OP of this thread is saying is that he doesn't want any book spoilers in this thread.

I honestly don't know WTF to think after the ending of Episode 2 last week.
Of course there's 8 more episodes, so who knows.

I do hope there is a better ending than Fargo last year (which I have high hopes for this fall..)

It's heavily influenced by Twin Peaks. And others say it kind of reminds them of Lost and Shutter Island.

Well the opening scene is nearly identical to LOST's. It borrows heavily from these and other influences.

I don't see the Twin Peaks influence. Because it's a government agent in a weird town?

Having no clue about the books, I was surprised big time by the end of this episode

I'm going to amend my "they are dead" theory, as obviously now multiple people have died.

New theory is that entering the town takes you through some kind of worm hole into an unspecified dystopian future or past, where they are one of a few remaining life-sustaining towns. The thing that dragged away original War Machine is some sort of evolved or devolved predator. The thing that I still can't pin down is why people view the passage of time differently.

My question is with the secret service's connection and why they want to keep Dillon's character alive

When Dillon's character found his wife's car, it and the other cars had dust all over them, like they had been there for years. I haven't read the books and I love the show but I'm confused.

I am wracking my brain to try to figure out what previous series this reminds me of. It featured of a bunch of different people, seemingly unconnected who wake up in a hotel and do various things to try to figure out what's going on in the empty town they have awoken in. I remember at one point the camera zooms out and reveals the town is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nothingness similar to episode 1 of this series. I think the show was canceled a few episodes in but I could be wrong on that. Probably aired in early to mid 2000's.

Can anyone help me out?

I've enjoyed the first few episodes so far.....but the ending to the last episode makes me uneasy. I don't understand the monster angle and how it fits with the government cover up. I've got a bad feeling it's gonna get real corny.

Kind of like how jeepers creepers had me going until they showed the monster.

Just watched last weeks episode. This reminds me of the village in a way with the monsters and "nobody can leave the town". Of Course, M. Night Shyamalan is involved in this series.

I did some research online on the books this was based on and when I read what I read I had no interest in watching any more episodes.

I'm going to watch tonight, but I did the same thing and may come to the same conclusion.

The show doesn't seem to be as uneven as the books were described. And if they change so plot details, I'll stick around with it.
