In that genre, Harry Potter is the part of the book store with the train set and stuffed animals.

That is actually not true. It is the young adult section, which is not in the kids section.

Interesting post. This thread is full of win.

Now I really want to re-read the series....it's been a long time.

I made the mistake of watching the 5th movie right after I read the book.....I didn't watch any of the movies after that because it aggravated me.

OotP was the most aggravating adaption off all the books IMO. Just so much left out, which I understand, you can't put all of the book in the movie, but it was just butchered. It's like they had lunch plans and had to get the shoot over ASAP.

Am I the only one that wishes Mcgonagall was actually used more? She wasn't really written about as much as the other characters. What was written you could tell she was very powerful, but Rowling never seemed to getting to writing too much about her or getting her more involved in the plot(s).

It was pretty strongly implied that the only reason Hogwarts wasn't completely fricked in book 7 was because Mcgonagall was there holding things together. And her magic in the battle when she woke up the knights in the castle was pretty impressive

3 important pieces.1) Malfoy would not become a killer. 2)Snape kept his double agent role. 3) Dumbledore was going to die anywy.

It also created a convoluted scenario that resulted in Voldemort being unable to effectively wield the Elder Wand.

Get out of here, Rita.

If there was ever a character I wanted to be brutally murdered, it was Rita.

Oh please... Umbridge.

Harry is the Tim Tebow of the wizarding world. He doesn't have the best form but in the end, he is going to bring home the W.

Hermione is clearly Peyton Manning.

Ron is Joe Flacco.

Rowling could make a killing by spending the rest of her life publishing background spin-offs.

Harry was an average wizard...but as many posters have said, he was the doom of one of the most sinister wizards ever.

Hermione was a much better wizard and she was muggle born.

No.

She was book smart for sure, but Harry was street smart. An OG if you will.

I feel this is somewhat of an appropriate place to put this. Chamber of Secrets is on and something just happened that pissed me off it is so stupid. The teachers all know Lockhart is a phony and even speak sarcastically about his skills. However when Ginny's life is on the line they leave him the task of going to save and walk away. A girl is going to die why the frick wouldn't they all go. I understand she is a ginger but she still deserve better.

They did this so he would stay the frick out of their way while they were trying to decide what they were actually going to do.
