Nah, it needed to be Glenn, unfortunately.
I think Maggie's character has been building to this point, honestly. I believe we're about to see her character grow and improve a whole lot.

I'm just going to assume this is now a SPOILER thread.
but no. if both Maggie and Glenn die it takes away from it a little bit for me. Then they are together in the end. Neither has to live with that absolutely brutal pain. Maggie living with Glenn's death is huge character development and will make for a great story.
eta: it ruins it even further thinking back on it. then Daryl probably isn't the one to act out, it is Glenn, who gets the bat anyway. Now there is no Daryl guilt. It could never be Maggie and Glenn. The group is left so much worse by it being Abe and Glenn which is for the betterment of the story.

Completly agree, if she went first there is no way he would have just sat there and watched his pregnant wife be beaten to death.

The outrage would have been tenfold if Maggie would have gotten her head smashed in, while pregnant.
Now what they could have done, and this would have been kind of lame, would have Maggie been chosen, but Abe or Glenn leaps to take her place because she is pregnant? I don't know...it was never going to be Maggie.
Also, Maggie in her sick state, isn't taking a bat to the head "like a champ."
Abraham was on borrowed time. His character dying made sense. And he died like an alpha boss at the end. A big "frick you" to Negan.
Glenn died to push Maggie forward and help her grow as a character.

I agree. However, knowing how this show works it will now drag out one episode at a time. probably wont pick back up again until the final 3 episodes. the show is notorious for BIG EVENT nothing happening for 8 episodes then finish the season.
