Well this was ridiculously hard. I did not hold back on childhood movies, comedies, or a popcorn flick or two. Like Tombstone for example, could be comsidered one of the worst westerns of all time around here, which I have no problem with, but for me it is incredibly fun, rewatchable, and has memorable characters. As expected for me my list is Hitchcock and western heavy. 41-50 could have all been more Hitchcock and westerns as well. 80's again proved to be my least favorite post 30's genre. I'm surprised how many recent movies made my list, but when it boiled down to pick between a movie like The Searchers or Pans Labyrinth, I went with a modern movie more than I thought I would have. Also I feel like my top five could swap depending on the day of the week. Anywho...

1. Dial M for Murder (1954) Hitchcock
2. To Kill A Mockingbird (1962) Mulligan
3. Seven Samurai (1954) Kurosawa

5. Psycho (1960) Hitchcock
6. Gone With the Wind (1939) Fleming
7. Chinatown (1974) Not deserving of a mention
8. The Hidden Fortress (1958) Kurosawa
9. Silence of the Lambs (1991) Demme
10. Blade Runner (1980) Scott
11. Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-2003)
12. Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) Leone
12. Citizen Kane (1941) Welles
13. The Sandlot (1993) Evans
14. Sin City (2005) Miller
15. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966) Leone
16. No Country for Old Men (2007) Coen Bros.
17. Witness for the Prosecution (1957) Wilder

Took out some of the greatest movies of all-time and added in a few of my favorites in their place. At the end of the day I’d still rather watch Trainspotting than 8 ½ and I’d recommend it first as well. That doesn’t mean that Trainspotting is the superior film; it’s not.

1. Aguirre, the Wrath of God
2. Solyaris
3. Andrei Rublev
4. North by Northwest
5. The Godfather
6. Chinatown
7. Seven Samurai
8. Rashomon
9. The 400 Blows
10. 2001: A Space Odyssey
11. Lawrence of Arabia
12. Rear Window
13. Apocalypse Now
14. Blue Velvet
15. Taxi Driver
16. Pierrot le Fou
17. Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
18. Brazil
19. Le Cercle Rouge
20. Touch Of Evil
21. Man with a Movie Camera
22. Closely Watched Trains
23. On the Waterfront
24. Duck Soup
25. Stalker
26. In Cold Blood
27. Reservoir Dogs
28. There Will Be Blood
29. Monty Python’s Life of Brian
30. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
31. Akira
32. Glengarry Glen Ross
33. Full Metal Jacket
34. Miller’s Crossing
35. Trainspotting
36. A Trip to the Moon
37. Man Bites Dog
38. Mean Streets
39. Fantastic Mr. Fox
40. Ghost Dog – The Way of the Samurai

So close:
Fantasia, Time Bandits, Kill Bill, Repo Man, Pusher, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, In the Loop, The Man Who Knew Too Much, The Conversation, Badlands, Sanjuro, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, The Thing, GoodFellas, Fargo, NCFOM, Raging Bull, The Big Lebowski, Requiem for a Dream

What's the deadline? I'll have time early next week, but probably not before.

You could do it without my list, but then I would have to call it MYADS.
