Volcano (1997) or Dante's Peak (1997)...which one do you like more?

vs.
While Volcano gave us that scene of the guy melting like the wicked witch ( YouTube Link), I vote Dante's Peak every time.

Definitely Dante's Peak
The grandma getting in the acid filled lake to push the boat

Volcano man that might be Tommy Lee Jones' best body of work.
JK it is Dante's Peak

Follow up question...
Is Dante's Peak the quintessential disaster movie of the 1990s?
I mean you have others like Armageddon, Deep Impact, Daylight, Twister...

yeah, but Volcano has the subway train driver jumping into lava to throw someone to safety!

I am going to go with Twister. I watch it anytime I see if on TV. I also have a fascination with tornadoes so that could play a part.

Dauntes Peak
Bond or a crappy US Marshall/Government Employee who always tried to bring the wrong person to justice?
a real woman like Mama Connor or annoying no chest chick who doesnt even like men IRL?
A Volcano that exists roughly where it should be or some BS Volcano that is created out of thin air to give LA another type of random natural disaster to fear?

Volcano - because it has Don Cheadle and Keith David

She didn't need to do that either. By the time she gets situated in the water and starts moving the boat it's already at the dock.
But I would still go with Dante's Peak > Volcano

Like both, but I enjoy Volcano more.

Its Armageddon IMO. That's an iconic cheeseball disaster movie with a huge cast.
Twister a close #2 and then the rest.

Gotta love the racist white cop and ghetto black guy casting aside their differences to go save the hood.

Volcano, only because of the forced "The races can come together" scenes:
And the kid at the end looking at everyone covered in ashes: "Look at their faces....they all look the same"

dante's peak. I saw both of these in theaters and I was 13 so I can't speak to their quality but I remember hating volcano and liking dante's peak.

Dante's Peak...all day, every day.

Both incredible works of art. Both integral pieces of my childhood. I'll go with Dante's Peak because Linda Hamilton is a hot mama and because James Bond is a badass.
