You should study up on it. Find a good doc and you'll see why fictionalizing it could be a challenge.

I saw the tv movie with the brilliant Powers Boothe as Jones as a kid and it scared the shite out of me.

I got into the story a while back. Jim recorded the moments before the mass suicide in like a final type of sermon. Full of vulgarity and craziness. The FBI released the audio and I sampled some of the audio for a music project during the late 90s.

Its a limited series and I've always been interested in the subject content, plus respecting those involved I'm looking forward to it.

Out of all the crazy shite that people are capable of, the cult mentality and the leaders that are capable of brainwashing themselves to suicide. ..

It's the most terrifying thing to me.

Alot of people hated The Sacrament (a fictionalized account of Jim Jones) but I thought it was pretty damn scary and realistic

It's pretty fricking crazy. You can find the recordings from the mass suicide online.

Same here. Everything I saw him in after I could only see Jim Jones.

This should be scary good.

I can't read about or watch the story or news or anything about this.

It is too sad.

Like there's audio of people drinking the poison and celebrating and then collapsing and people shrieking at those that are dying and collapsing all around them.

There was a movie on Netflix called the sacrament based on the Jonestown massacre that was really good.

I've heard the audio before and it's chilling. I have no doubt Gilligan will kill it but this story is a lot like Manson's in that the real life characters are so deranged and unique it's better to just watch a doc than a fictionalized movie or series.

I could only listen to five minutes of that. Anything like that makes me feel uncomfortable.

Jonestown Death Tape (nsfw)

Fun fact, this was recorded over a tape of a Delfonics album. So the entire time you can hear creepy half-time soul songs in the background

Is this the much-anticipated follow-up to "That's So Raven" that I've been hearing about? I heard she got into some crazy shite.

I'm looking forward to this. I remember stumbling on a documentary 10 or so years ago that feature a child or two of Jones talking about what a lunatic he was. I was blown away having never heard of the event before.
