The original Downton Abbey. An upperclass British family and their servants.
I watched the three episodes of the 2010 reboot (set in 1936) last night. I've seen perhaps 3 or 4 from the 1970s series.
The rich girl flirting with Mosley and British Fascism storyline was clearly inspired by the Mitfords.
Fans of Downton will probably enjoy it. You can watch online here.
The second series of the reboot begins Sunday on PBS. This will apparently be the last series, as ratings were down in the UK.
Keeley Hawes doesn't look all that great on the show, but otherwise...

I am recording it but I haven't watched any episodes yet. I saw an interview with Keely Hawes a while back and was interested in this show. (I liked her in MI5)I think she married a guy from MI5.
She looks a lot like Keira Knightly doesn't she?

Zoe? I had a thing for Zoe too.
First 3 seasons of MI-5 were the best.

The original Upstairs/Downstairs is the best. It is the show that pretty much established Masterpiece Theater, and is still considered to be the best to ever appear on that show.
Upstairs generally covers the same timeframe, but it starts about a decade earlier. The setting is a large London townhouse instead of a country estate. The same socialogical and technological changes are covered but in a different way.
It can't match Downton's budget or production values, but it does a great job with what it has. It's in color, although the first 2 or 3 episodes were filmed in black and white due to some technician strike that was going on at the time.
Downton's pacing is probably a bit quicker, but I think Upstair's pacing is good. It's main drawback compared to Downton is that it doesn't have Maggie Smith.
I haven't been able to get into the reboot at all. Maybe it's like Godfather 3, a solid show that just pales in comparison to the original.
