I only know of a scene towards the end of the film. It may be the final scene. Here we go:
Film is set is 50's or 60's. Produced in 1995 - 2010 ish.
It's either Keanu Reeves or a guy that looks like him a lot. Couldn't match it on IMDB.
It's been a while but here is what I remember:
Scene: Christmas and snowing in a city. Keanu is walking and goes to a house where he meets a girl who he clearly knows and has feelings for. Low lights and Christmas lights inside this house. He has to leave her to run an errand of some sort for but promises to return.
After leaving to go do whatever he gets jumped in an alley and beaten. (Possibly arrested)? I was pulled away at this point. That's all I saw of the movie.
That's all I know but it was an intriguing film and I cannot find it despite a few hours of searching over a year or so. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately not. I remember thinking Keanu's character was named Jack. For some reason I remember thinking it may have been about Jack Kerouc or one of his novels but couldn't match anything up.

Good try but no. This was set in the 50s or 60s. I wish I could remember more. The love interest and the male didn't know each other well.
I know I'm clear as mud. I believe it's an actor that looks like Keanu (not Prinze or Klien) but I can't put my finger on him.

How about their accents? Were they English, Bostonian, Jersey?
How old were the actors at the time? Young/college, thirty-somethings, middle-aged?
Did it feel like a quality production or an indy?
Every little bit helps.

I'm usually pretty good with this kind of stuff but I need a little more to go on.

Thomas Jane is the lead as one of the beats (Cassady?) but I think Keanu had a small role.

Keanu actually has a fairly sizable role. Thomas Jane is Neal Cassady, Keanu plays Harry but the movie is about the beats.
