After finishing my nteenth rewatch of "Review", I got to thinking about shows I never saw until they were canceled.

Top 3:

Arrested Development
Better Off Ted
Review

Arrested Development might be one of the greatest shows of all time and its sad that no one watched it and it only had a couple seasons pre-netflix

The loss of Phil and Lem is a damn tragedy

Andy Daily is awesome is everything he is in. And it sucks that Review got canceled.

thanks to streaming and binge watching capabilities, there's no such thing as too late now.

best example for my self is Always Sunny in Philly. didn't start watching it until maybe a year and a half ago. now I'm already caught up with the new season

The West Wing.

I don't know how I missed this when it was on network television. I'm almost a third through season 7, and it is probably my favorite show ever. It's just brilliant, especially the first two seasons.

I tried West Wing on netflix recently, it doesn't suck but I don't get the love affair people have with it. I think I just like sorkin dialogue.

After watching it, watch it again, then again

The genius of AD is that the best jokes are so subtle and hidden that you don't notice them til the second or third watch through

News Radio - So damn funny, well written, quirky.
Parks and Recreation - see above.
Magnum PI - I thought it was a beefcake show for moms to drool over. I finally watched an episode and was surprised at how good it was.

It was Season 4, Episode 1.

Episode Brief Magnum's tradition of spending the Fourth of July alone at sea turns to a life-and-death battle when his surf ski capsizes from a reckless boater and a strong current takes him further and further from land. Forced to tread water for hours in shark-infested waters, Thomas uses his memories of his mom and dad to keep himself alive while Higgins, T.C., and Rick begin a frantic search for him.

Those WB and UPN sitcoms that no one watched until they were on Adult Swim:

Mission Hill
Oblongs
Baby Blues

What I don't get is the love affair conservatives have with it

I've known right wing extremists who couldn't miss an episode.

Why? It's a Hollywood liberal fantasy about a Bill Clinton who isn't a scumbag

Women, okay, they love soap operas. But you'd hope men would have more sense

And I'd sooner watch a test pattern than give shroomhead Aaron Sorkin a nanosecond of my time

pretty much this

It's not like if you did an army hitch in 1959 and never got to catch Johnny Staccato. In those days you'd never get a chance to see it again.

I was going to say this. I don't really think "discovering shows too late is a real thing". With that being said, it took me a few times to get into shows like The Americans, Hannibal & Utopia. When those shows were right up my alley.

Sounds like you have a massive problem with Aaron Sorkin if anything.

I'd love to know how WB got their hands on the series above. All three had potential and laid the grow work for "alternative cartoons" that we now see on Adult Swim.

I'm usually just late enough to where nobody wants to talk about it once I start watching. I just discovered "Bored to Death" and before that I was watching "Goliath" shortly after anyone still gave a shite enough to discuss.
