I'm so/so about it. Like someone posted earlier, I really get the vibe that the show is meandering with no real purpose. I'm not entirely sure who I'm supposed to care about.

Farrell's character is coming around and I like that. I thought VV was better this episode, and I think the blatant confused semi-panicked attitude of Riggins was intentional. I still don't really get the purpose of his character though.

I don't want to admit so early that the show is all style and no substance. I'm holding out for the first "holy shite" moment. Either that, or McAdams and Farrell getting it on.

I noticed that too, but I think it was kind of implied that it was the same killer when VV was having a conniption fit about someone out to get him.

For those who don't know Stan is Franks right hand man.

I saw someone asking this earlier.

Watching this episode, was like pulling teeth.

That VV just happened to collect, put in his pocket to take home so he could drop them in the waste basket next to his bar......

Ah, got it. You're still killing your father.

Episode was pretty good, still feel like everything is setting up so hopefully we start getting payoffs soon and not in the final 2 episodes only. With 5 to go, I want some action next week.

I feel like the character development was praised so much last season, Pizzolatto forgot there actually needs to be a plot to go with it.

The writing is awful and I thought the same thing with VV and the teeth. Dude rips them out and then holds them in his hand for a few hours only to throw them away at home. Lol what awful writing

I agree 100% with the guy earlier about writers who have their lifelong work written down and finally get their break and it takes off, and now studios want more and quicker. Doesn't work like that

Happens to musicians all the time. They have recordings of songs they've been playing since the garage days and their first album finally gets a break and blows up and their label now wants another album but bigger and better and quicker. You can't force chemistry

Bad directing and bad casting/acting on top of that doesn't help

Just watched it again and I think mcadams might be the worst actor and character of them all

During the chase scene she just randomly yells out "stop motherfricker". Lol it was so forced and so cringeworthy.

True it's a tie. The irony is they are now a couple offscreen. Lol

I loved him in lone survivor and of course FNL but this is out of his league. His character is just there. Wasted time

Yeah. After the first episode I was on teh same boat as everyone else in that ok...we have all these different people in different agencies, surely their stories will intertwine somehow and they will all bring something different to the table in telling their story.

But honstly, his character seems like a 100% waste. The overall story could/would be the exact same if it were just cf/ra. They could have easily found some other way to discover the city manager.

No - the characters are robots that are impossible to have a connection with because of their bizarre circumstances.

This show is basically the 35% fresh Rotten Tomatoes summer popcorn flick that you should have low expectations for.

I'm sure it's been mentioned and i agree you can't associate this season with season 1, however the creepy Louisiana scenery and feel was such a major character and theme with the first that is missing with this season.

Idk, do you care about them? No? Then why keep watching?

So far, a very dead Ben Caspere has been the most interesting and compelling character on the show.

the whole fight sequence was bad. VV's bodyguard just hands him a pair of pliers out of nowhere? The fat dude owned that club and was talking shite to VV and his men, you would think he would have his own security staff there to back him up.

The writing is really bad. The writing was bad for parts of season 1 as well, but there was great acting by the 2 leads to cover it up. I'll watch the rest because I'm curious how it ends, but damn what a let down.
